FERGUS – Lions Clubs are known throughout Canada for providing guide dogs for those who are physically disabled. The Fergus club did its part on June 8 at the Fergus sportsplex, raising over $11,000 for the project. The Lions Club of Marsville also had a hand in making this another successful event. Most of the dogs this year were on the smaller side and could be classified as a lap dog. About 25 dogs were entered in the walk with their owners around the main field at the sportsplex. Dogs even play basketball, as shown by Star and handler Pat Griffiths from Fergus. Nina Querin and her dachshund Slinky pose for photo.
