Amberlea Daigneau wins Baillie Award

GUELPH – Amber Daigneau, a teacher at Bishop Macdonell Catholic High School in Guelph, has been awarded the Baillie Award for Excellence in Secondary School Teaching.

The award recognizes exceptional high school educators from across Canada who have served as role models, instilled a love of learning, and inspired academic excellence.

Daigneau was nominated for the award by former student Blake Gill, who was a student in her high school English class.

His nomination referenced Daigneau as a “guiding light” for students of all backgrounds and disciplines, highlighting her support for queer students and those struggling with mental health.

She will be recognized at convocation later this month.
