of Moorefield passed away unexpectedly at his cottage in Kincardine on Monday, May 19, 2025 in his 74th year. Dear husband of the late Shirley Hammond (2022) for 26 years. Stepfather of Mike and Allison Wimmenhove and Wayne and Charlene Wimmenhove both of Alberta. Dear grandfather of Amber and Amanda. Brother-in-law of Dorothy Rosema, Jack and Mary Van Soest and Jerry De Boer. Greg will be missed by his nieces, nephews, friends and many longtime clients. Predeceased by his parents Keith and Helen Hammond. Greg took over the family business that his father Keith started in 1953, K.A Hammond and Co. He could be heard saying thank you for shopping in downtown Moorefield as customers left the store. Greg was very community minded and volunteered with the Moorefield Optimist Club and the Mapleton Chamber of Commerce. He enjoyed his time at the family cottage and loved to hit the road on his Goldwing and was a member of the Canadian Riders. To honour Greg’s wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service of Remembrance will be held in the Moorefield Community Centre on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 11:00am followed by interment in Bethesda Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Palmerston Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Heritage Funeral Home, Drayton.
