Spring Fling at the Stables raises $11,000 for Community Resource Centre

Layla Novton was among the vendors at the Spring Fling Market, selling stuffed animals she crocheted. Her business, Crochet with Layla, was in the “Future Visionaries” section of the market, for vendors under 18 years old.
Skye Kent and Ryleigh Wells worked together to sell bracelets, stickers and candies at the market. They donated their proceeds to the Community Resource Centre’s Summer Snax program, which provides snacks to children in need during the summer break.

Toys – Michelle Engleby and Darryl Andrae make Montessori inspired learning materials for children and were among those selling goods at the Spring Fling market.. Their business, On the Ravine, is based in Fergus.
Chris Lennox, or the Grumpy Grampa, brought his timbre crafts from the Kennilworth area to sell during the Community Resource Centre market.

ELORA – The second annual Spring Fling at the Stables on April 26 at the Grand River Raceway in Elora raised about $11,000 for the Community Resource Centre of North and Centre Wellington’s community outreach and support services. Last year, the event brought in around $8,700. Money was raised through $5 entrance fees, vendor fees, sponsors and donations during the event. Community Resource Centre programs are designed to fill gaps in community service, including EarlyON Child and Family Centres, licensed childcare centres, and outreach and support services that provide emergency financial assistance, free income tax preparations and school supplies and recreation programs for youth.
