Obituary

It is with profound sadness, we announce the passing of William (Bill) Archibald Beattie on February 28, 2025, at the age of 86. Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. His warmth, wisdom, and kindness touched the lives of all who knew him. Bill was predeceased by his beloved wife, Karen (nee Warmington), with whom he shared 62 wonderful years of marriage. Their bond was a testament to love, laughter, and unwavering support. He was also predeceased by his dear sister, Marilyn Beattie, and his daughter-in-law, Nancy Beattie. He is survived by his loving children, Keith Beattie and Brenda Mochrie (Rob), as well as his brother, Ross Beattie (Linda). Bill was a proud and devoted grandfather to Nick (Kristy), Drew (Breana), Spencer (Tabitha), and Barbara (Prentice), and a cherished great-grandfather to Beckham and Tessa, who brought him endless joy. A lifelong resident and proud member of the Centre Wellington community, Bill touched countless lives through his love of music and extraordinary talent for piano playing. Whether performing at local events, gatherings, or simply filling a room with his melodies, Bill’s music brought people together and left a lasting impact on all who heard it. His passion for music was only matched by his vibrant personality and unwavering kindness. Though he is no longer with us, his love, music, and legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. Visitation will be held at Giddy’s Funeral Home in Fergus on March 7th from 6-9pm. A funeral service will take place at St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Fergus on March 10th at 11am, with a reception to follow. A celebration of life will be held at a later date to honour Bill’s memory.
