Obituary

It is with great sadness that the angel in the life of so many found her wings. Linda Siple (previously Vervoort, nee Walsh) passed away on February 11, 2025, at age 71, at London University Hospital with family at her side. Linda will be missed by her husband, Martyn Siple, and her son, Adam Vervoort. She is predeceased by her first husband, Albert Vervoort (1994), and her parents, Mike and Margaret Walsh. Raised in Arthur, Ontario, she was the middle child in the family; a caring sister to brothers Dave (Rose) and Mike Jr. Linda’s smile and laughter were infectious for all those around her, and her kindness and patience provided comfort to many. She was a loving wife, expert calf caretaker, avid gardener, social butterfly, and proud mom. After living in Norwich, Ontario upon marrying Martyn, in 2020 they moved to a farming community outside of Peterborough to be with Adam where they worked as a family tending to the dairy herd and barn cats and enjoying family dinners together. Her love and dedication to family will never be forgotten, nor will her love of socializing and comforting friends and strangers in times of need. Six months ago, Linda and Martyn moved back to Western Ontario to reconnect with their friends and enjoy the next stage of their retirement. Her sudden passing leaves those around her in disbelief; family and friends will treasure the many good memories and her compassion. Thank you to extended family and friends that have been so incredibly supportive in this time of need. A celebration of life will be held later in the spring to share the wonderful memories we have of this incredibly sweet lady. We ask that any donations in Linda’s name be made out to your local Humane Society.
