1933 – 2025 Glenn Harper Dickson, in his 92nd year, of Listowel Ontario and having lived in Maryborough Township most of his life, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2025. Glenn was born on December 3, 1933 and after graduating from Drayton Highschool, went on to have a successful career in farming and eventually growing a pastime and decorating hobby into a full time business. During his early farming years, he served as Canadian chairman for the 4H Club of Canada. Glenn was very community minded having been a long-term member of the Moorefield Optimist Club. He was an avid sportsman all his life with a particular passion for hockey (member of the Teviotdale Tigers), curling and fastball. Dancing, fishing and hunting were also favorite pass times. He was a soft spoken individual, with a passion for detail and was always determined to provide support to his family and ensure they experienced the life they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, and his desire to maintain family ties was forever evident in his actions. Glenn is lovingly remembered by his wife of 69 years, Dorothy (Cunningham). He was deeply loved by his four children and spouses, Blair (Debbie), Kirk (Terry), Susan and Sandra (Barry) MacMillan. He was a grandfather to 10 who will miss him dearly: Parker (Melissa), Laura (Sunny) Machado, Whitney (Brooks) Sweeney, Kara, Lauren (Justin) Kowal, Nathan (Jessica), Alyssa (Tom) Zabel, Kate, Evan and Graham. Glenn was also fortunate to have great memories with 15 great grandchildren and was greatly anticipating the arrival of one additional great grandchild in March. Glenn’s legacy of service, generosity and love will be cherished by all who knew and loved him. Glenn’s family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank-you to the nurses and staff and Fordwich Village Nursing Home and the Listowel Wingham Hospital Alliance, who showed him kindness and compassion during his time with them.
