GUELPH – After almost a decade as executive director, Joanne Young Evans has decided to begin a new chapter and will be stepping away from her role at Compass Community Services.
The decision comes after thoughtful consideration and with a heartfelt commitment to ensuring a smooth transition for the organization, Young Evans and board chair Charmaine Sheahan stated in a press release.

“Joanne’s leadership has left an indelible mark on our mission and community, and we are profoundly grateful for Joanne’s contributions to Compass Community Services and the community,” stated the release.
Erica Pellin has been selected to be the new executive director.
Pellin has a 15-year history with Compass and has been a member of the senior management team for almost a decade.
Pellin has extensive experience and a passion for supporting Compass’ people and programs, the release stated.
She has been involved in stakeholder engagement for over a decade with four provincial ministries and numerous funders and donors.
“Her dedication to the Guelph-Wellington community and connections within the sector will serve her well in this next phase of leadership,” the release stated.
The leadership transition will begin on April 1 and Young Evans and Pellin will continue to work closely to ensure continuity and a seamless hand over of responsibilities.
Details of an upcoming event to honour Young Evans and congratulate Pellin will be shared soon, the release stated.
