GUELPH – Compass Community Services is proud to announce the launch of a new reduced-rate mental health therapy program, offering necessary mental health supports to individuals in Guelph and Wellington County at an affordable price.
Launched on Jan. 13, therapy sessions are available now at a significantly reduced rate of $80 per session, provided by mental health intern therapists at Compass’ Guelph office.
Sessions are accessible in person, via video, or by telephone to ensure flexibility and accessibility for all.
Recognizing the financial barriers that often prevent individuals from seeking mental health support, Compass Community Services is also offering the first session free to the first 30 individuals who book a reduced-rate session.
This initiative is designed to help those who may be struggling to take the first step in their mental health journey.
“As a community-focused agency, Compass is committed to providing mental health services that are accessible and affordable for those who need them most,” said Compass director of mental health services Sarah Sytsma.
“We understand that cost can be a major barrier, and this program is one way we are working to support our community’s well-being.”
In addition to providing reduced-rate therapy, Compass is launching a Pay It Forward campaign, inviting community members to help fund mental health support for others. By donating $80, or their $200 cheque from the Government of Ontario, individuals can sponsor a session or two for someone in need.
“We are joining non-profit organizations across Ontario in asking individuals to donate their $200 cheques if they are able,” said executive director Joanne Young Evans.
“[That] is a lot of money for a lot of families and if they need it, we most certainly think they should keep it. But if this payment serves as a bonus for your family and you have the means, please pay it forward.”
To book a reduced rate session, do so on JaneApp. To sponsor a therapy session, people can donate on CanadaHelps.
