Of Verner, Ontario passed away peacefully at home on December 3, 2024 after a short battle with cancer at the age of 67 with his life partner Christena Culliton and faithful dog Blue by his side. Predeceased by spouse Marg Wollis. Survived by his parents Burt and Helen Moore of Mount Forest, daughters Alanna Burton and her son Maximillian of Calgary, Jessica Moore and her daughter London and son Gabrielle of Woodstock. Stepsons William McBride (Alicia Winter) daughters Madison and Brooklyn of Clifford and Will Baker wife, Shannon and son Marshall of Field. Daughters Ally (Josh) of Mitchell and Brooklyn (Reid) of Harriston. Predeceased by brother Tom. Also survived by sister-in-law Brenda (Vic) of Elliot Lake. Sister Marylynne Wood (Larry) of Guelph. Sister Pauline Horagon (the late Dave) also of Elliot Lake. Brothers Peter (Karen) of Alma, Derek (Maggie) of Drayton. Fondly remembered by nieces, nephews, family and friends. Joe was raised on a farm in Kenilworth, ON which fostered his love of the land after manufacturing experiences at several local plants including Quality Homes. Joe continued farming in the area. In 2008 his life adventure took him and his life partner north to a 350 acre farm where he continued his love of the land and was a dedicated employee at Sturgeon Brush Ltd for 16 years. Joe cherished visits and moments with family and friends, especially his grandchildren. Joe and I spent 17 years in the North enjoying living on the water, manicuring the farm and walking the dog. Celebration of life to follow in spring 2025. In lieu of flowers donations in Joe’s memory to Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
