Agnes was reunited with her loving husband, Jacques (2002) and son Jim (1978) as well as other family and friends who predeceased her, on the evening of November 15, 2023. She passed peacefully with family by her side at Groves Memorial Hospital, Fergus. Agnes was a talented artist who used many mediums to create works of art that are cherished by many. She found peace in nature where she loved hiking the trails around her home in Lake Eugenia and later her home in Elora. All those who knew Agnes could speak to her witty sense of humour. She was a fabulous cook who enjoyed preparing traditional Swiss cuisine to share with others. Camping, reading, bowling, playing horseshoes and bid-euchre with family and cherished friends formed some of her most cherished memories. Born in Andwil, Switzerland, Agnes spent her younger years with her siblings, Trudi Christen (Ernst, 2017), Bruno Rütti (Bërti, 2023), Regula Wick (2014) (Bernard, 1994), Celia Deighton, and Martha Nöst (Rudolph) until the age of 18 when she immigrated to Canada. While in Canada, she met the love of her life, Jacques (2002), who also immigrated to Canada from Valeyres, Switzerland. Together, they created a beautiful life. Agnes is predeceased by her son Jim (1978) and lovingly remembered by her surviving children, Daniel (Sherry) of Grand Valley, Marcel (Gayle) of Elora, Richard of Grand Valley, and Barbara Mason (André Earl) of Mono. She leaves behind her grandchildren, Nathan, Justine (Josh), Darcy (Kayla), Nicholas, Tyler (Savanna), Lisa (Nik), Brandon, Jaden, Rachel (Brett), Hayley, and Jacques. Her memory will live on in her great grandchildren, Aubrey, Oaklynn, Barrett, Leighton, Avery, Fionnlagh, Damon, Ariel, Meka, Axel, and Paisley. Agnes is lovingly remembered by her extended family, both in Canada and Switzerland. Mom, go rest high on that mountain; your work on earth is done. The family would like to thank Dr. Ray, Dr. Beamish and the staff at Groves Memorial Hospital for their compassionate care.
