It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Al Tarzwell on August 3, 2022 at Groves Memorial Hospital at the age of 84. Beloved partner to the late Alberta Leitch. Proud father to Bob (Sonja), Cindy (Andy), Shawna, and Scott (Sandra). Cherished grandfather to Jeremiah, Lane, Shawna, Kass, Lynn, Zachary, Clinton and Mackenzie and 10 great grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents George and Louie, brother Gord, son Rob and daughter Sabrina. Al will be missed by all his friends and extended family. Al will be remembered as a kind-hearted person who helped many people, often anonymously. He was fun loving and corn roasts and gatherings were enjoyed by many friends and family over the years at the farm. He looked forward to his annual trips to Florida with lifelong friends. Everyone will remember his love of antique cars, floating heavy equipment, trips to flea market and antique shops, fine dining and social events. A special thank you to the Guelph Renal Clinic, Dr Daly, Tobias at HCCSS, Karen at Medigas, Tara from Bayshore Nursing, the PSW staff from Paramed Home Health and Vic, his neighbour and buddy.Resting at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph. A private family burial will be taking place. Friends and relatives are welcome to join for a funeral reception on Friday, August 12, 2022 from 2:00pm – 4:00pm at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 442, 12 Dundas St E, Erin. In lieu of flowers, Al requested that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Hillsburgh Baptist Church. Donations can be made by cash or cheque at the funeral home.
