35 per cent of 2014 Puslinch snow budget now used

With less than one quarter of the year completed, Puslinch has now used up 35 per cent of its snow budget.

Last week, the Wellington Advertiser attempted to provide a comparison of how various municipalities had fared as a result of the winter storms in late 2013 and early 2014.

Unfortunately, Puslinch was one of the municipalities unable to respond by the Advertiser press deadline.

Later in the week, Puslinch director of finance/treasurer Mary Hasan, emailed in response to the query regarding the operating costs for the roads department as they pertain to winter roads maintenance.

They were as follows:

– 2012: The township used 79% of its winter maintenance budget;

– 2013: The township was over budget by 18%; and

– 2014: As of Feb. 28, 2014, the township used 35% of its winter maintenance budget.
