Zoning bylaw and supplementary subdivision agreement discussed

A zoning bylaw amendment and a supplementary subdivision agreement were a couple of the items discussed at the Guelph-Eramosa council meeting on March 7.

Zoning bylaw amendment

The owners of a horse facility and Rockwood Self Storage on Highway 7, south of Rockwood, are requesting the removal of the equine use, self-storage use and accessory office as permitted uses.

The owners are also asking to rezone a portion of the lands for the expansion of the self-storage facility, seven additional buildings, from agricultural with a holding provision to rural industrial.

They are also asking that the remainder of the lands be deemed rural industrial.

Subdivision agreement

The township has entered into a supplementary subdivision agreement with Charleston Homes.

The developer has received conditional approval for Phase 2 of the Noble Ridge Subdivision in Rockwood.

This is the last block, planning associate Kelsey Lang said.

The area is in the northwest corner of the subdivision, including the future streets of Gagnon Place and Drenters Court.

The development includes 44 detached dwellings on Sammon Drive and two public cul-de-sacs.

Councillor Mark Bouwmeester asked about the next steps for the subdivision development.

“This will be the last agreement that council will be asked to enter into,” Lang said.
