Zehrs to take over prescriptions held at Zellers

Zehrs Markets at 800 Tower St. South will be taking on the prescription files from the Zellers pharmacy in Fergus effective on May 13.

To meet the needs of the community, Zehrs pharmacist Steve Ennis and his team will offer personal consultations, and a number of programs and services aimed at continuing a high level of care for Zellers pharmacy patients.

Some of the services and programs offered at the store include:

- to ensure refills are not missed, customers are given the option to refill prescriptions automatically with reminders by phone, email or text.  It’s easy, convenient and free;

- convenience packs help manage multiple medications. Through improved compliance and confirmation of dosage taken, convenience packs make medications more convenient and easy to use;

- private consultation area to ensure a comfortable and confidential consultation experience, private consultation areas are available for meetings between pharmacists and customers;

- free delivery;

- will continue to reduce the co-payment on Ontario Drug Benefit eligible prescriptions by $2, applicable to eligible Ontario Drug Benefit Recipients;

- hypertension assessment and information with cardiovascular risk assessments which include blood pressure reading and cholesterol level.

Additionally, sodium awareness lifestyle tips offers customers helpful information including an educational booklet with guidelines for daily sodium intake; and

- a department offering a great selection of products to suit different dietary needs, such as organic and gluten-free.
