Youth Singers have Dec. 1 family show

Ninety award-winning choristers of Guelph Youth Singers will present their annual seasonal concert on Dec. 1 at 7:30pm here at the River Run Centre.
A string quartet from the Suzuki String School of Guelph will be special guests, along with guest instrumentalists on percussion and handbells.
Artistic Director Linda Beaupré has chosen a repertoire to put guests in a holiday mood. Familiar carols and seasonal songs from the lighter side will include, A Marshmallow World, and When Santa Claus Gets Your Letter.
The strings and singers will present moving arrangements of more traditional carols, as well as, Shepherd’s Cradle Song. A Chanukah song, Round and Round the Dreydl Spins will include all singers, ages 6 through 19, in a whirling four-part canon, and the youngest singers will present Huddle Close.
The concert features the works of many international composers.
Guelph Youth Singers includes choristers from the city of Guelph and area. The four choirs are regular recipients of awards from the Guelph Kiwanis Festival, and have gone on to win at the provincial and national levels of the Federation of Canadian Music Festivals.
