Youth council plans Halloween Costume Swap

MINTO – The Minto Youth Action Council (MYAC) is planning a Halloween Costume Swap on Oct. 23.

The event will take place from 1 to 3pm at the youth group’s meeting space, The Grove Hub – Palmerston (390 Main Street East, Palmerston).

Organizers encourage families to bring a used costume to swap for something from the wide variety of used costumes donated by members of the youth council and the community.

“There are so many options at our upcoming costume swap for people of all ages,” said longtime MYAC member Kyrsta Koepke.

“The costumes are sorted and we cannot wait for the event.”

The group will accept advance costume donations until Oct. 22. Those wishing to donate may drop-off at the Grove any weekday from 9am to 4:30pm or the Harriston Town Hall Theatre Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 to 10pm. Costume swappers can bring their donation to the event.

MYAC is a youth-led initiative, working in conjunction with the Town of Minto and The Grove Hub to share the voice of youth in the community.

Organizers note the group meets twice a month and welcomes new members between the ages of 12 and 26 “looking to make Minto a better place for youth to live.”
