WELLINGTON NORTH – A new decal representing inclusivity in Wellington North was inspired by artwork from four local students: Vannah Saunders (11), Pyper MacDonald (12), Blayke Ward (11) and Keira Potter (10).

Council approved the decal design during a regular meeting of council on May 19.

The four students were the winners of the township’s All Are Welcome Here Design Contest, which invited students in kindergarten through Grade 12 to share their vision of what it means to be part of a welcoming community.

Mayor Andy Lennox said there were “many strong submissions that captured themes of kindness, inclusion and belonging.”

The winners were chosen based on their creativity, messaging and reflection of community values.

“Together, these messages strongly reflect the spirit of Wellington North,” township officials state.

“All are welcome here – many hands, many differences, one community; coming together with kindness, belonging and room for everyone to learn, connect and play.”
