Woolwich butter tart festival supports Groves hospital

ELMIRA – The third annual “For the Love of Butter Tarts Festival” will be donating a portion of its ticket sales to support Groves Memorial Community Hospital.

The festival will take place at the Woolwich Memorial Centre in Elmira and is slated for July 26 from 10am to 4pm.

This year’s festival will feature bakers from all over Ontario, with some traveling from as far as Wasaga Beach to sell their wares and baked goods.

“The festival is going to have over 20 butter tart bakers from all over Ontario,” said event organizer Jackie Psutka.

This year’s event will feature an expansive market, balloon artists, a selfie station, live music and a variety of food trucks.

A dollar from every ticket sale will be put towards the hospital and Psutka says it is likely the event will donate further funds on top of that.

Tickets can be purchased at the festival or in advance online.

Those buying day-of tickets can save $1 for a food donation to the Woolwich Community Service Food Bank.

All tickets holders will receive a ballot to enter a final draw to win free butter tarts for a year from Franny’s Restaurant and Bakery out of Breslau.
