Woman charged in October hit-and-run that injured cyclist

MINTO – A West Grey woman has been charged in connection with a hit-and-run collision here in the fall that left a cyclist with serious injuries.

On Oct. 11 at about 8:30am, emergency crews responded to a report of an injured cyclist on Wellington Road 2 at Regency Drive in Minto.

“Investigation determined that the cyclist had been struck by a motor vehicle, which did not remain at the scene of the collision,” states a press release from the Wellington County OPP.

“The cyclist, a 21-year-old from Clifford, was transported to a trauma centre by Air Ornge with serious injuries.”

On Jan. 23 police announced that Kathleen A. Lougheed, 28, of West Grey, was charged with failing to stop at an accident resulting in bodily harm, careless driving causing bodily harm, failing to report an accident and failing to remain at the scene of an accident.
