Winterlights to go dim for Minto
While participation has not been ruled out, it looks like the lights are off for a local Winterlights program here this year.
Council reviewed a report from its Communities in Bloom committee and its administrator, Louise Bexton, reported it might not be feasible to take part in the Winterlights program that Minto was considering.
The main concern was volunteer burnout, since those taking part in the Winterlights program would have been, for the most part, the same people who are members of the current Communities in Bloom committee.
Bexton said organizers will be looking at the possibility of setting something up as a separate committee - but that would be sometime in the future
