Wichers, Fred; with his loving family by his side at the Louise Marshall Hospital, Mount Forest on Tuesday, October 8th, 2013. Frederikus “Fred” Wichers of Mount Forest in his 89th year. Fred passed away on the day of his 25th wedding anniversary to his wife Marnie (Ramsbottom) Alexander-Wichers. Predeceased by his first wife Rose (Waninge) Wichers (1975). Loved father of Margaret Balfoort & husband Luuk of Elora, Henry Wichers & wife Lynn of Fergus, Fred Wichers & wife Nikki of Fergus, Judy Martel & husband Dennis of Ottawa, Glen Alexander & wife Joanne of Conn and Wanda Wilson & husband Randy of Conn. Loving grandfather of Michael, Paul, Melody, John, Greg, Peter, Ryan, Chris, Jillian, Rebecca, Brittany, Ryan, Casey, Breanna, Ginny, Shane, Jeff and Tracey and loving great grandfather to his 34 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Roelie Nijland and Jan Wichers & wife Roefie of the Netherlands. Survived also by his nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by brother Roelof Wichers & wife Gea and by brother-in-law Arend Nijland. Friends called at the England Funeral Home, Mount Forest on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 & 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A Funeral service was held at Faith Baptist Church, 485 King Street East, Mount Forest on Saturday, October 12th at 11:00 a.m. A reception followed. Committal service was held at the Elora Cemetery on Tuesday, October 15th at 10:00 a.m. Memorial donations to Faith Baptist Church or to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated by the family.
