WHSS student enrolled in Canadian Armed Forces military for co-op placement
MOUNT FOREST – Brennen Sikkema is completing a military co-op placement with the Grey and Simcoe Foresters Unit at the Canadian Armed Forces military base in Owen Sound.
Sikkema is a Grade 12 student at Wellington Heights Secondary School.
According to a news release, Sikkema explained how students in the specialized program, “start by completing our basic military qualification, this teaches us how to be a basic soldier.”
Once all qualifications are completed, he will have the opportunity to be sent for additional training or possibly for official deployment.
