Wellington County Warden Chris White will resume his position as Director for the Rural Caucus, while CAO Scott Wilson will fill the position of Director for the County Caucus for the Association of Municipalities Ontario (AMO) Board of Directors.
The AMO Board of Directors is made up of municipal representatives from communities across Ontario.
The board meets five times a year to discuss key municipal issues and develop policy positions and reports.
It also serves as a support system for municipalities, offering cost-saving programs, training opportunities and other helpful tools.
“It is an honour to be appointed to the AMO board of directors,” said White.
“I look forward to continuing the board’s important work with municipalities across Ontario, and am proud to advocate for Ontario and Wellington residents.”
Both White and Wilson were appointed by acclamation for the 2014-2016 term.
They are two of 43 elected and non-elected members of this governing body of AMO.
“I am pleased to work alongside Warden Chris White and the other AMO board of directors for the 2014-2016 term,” said Wilson.
“This board is a great representation of the diverse communities across our province.”
AMO works to make the province’s municipal governments more effective by connecting all 444 municipalities throughout Ontario, so they can work together to achieve shared goals and meet common challenges.
AMO boasts a long-standing history, dating to 1899.
