Westario shows interest in buying
Councillors here have made no decision, but they are willing to listen to Westario's interest in purchasing Wellington North's power utility.
On Monday night, Mayor Mike Broomhead said the regional utility is interested in having purchase talks with the municipality.
He asked if council is interested in taking part in a discussion.
There is no commitment either way, Broomhead said.
Councillor Ross Chaulk said he wants to hear what Westario representatives have to say.
He added the province is currently offering "a tax free holiday" to municipalities choosing to sell their local utilities.
