On Aug. 16 we had our sixth meeting of the West Luther Vet Club. It was a joint meeting with the West Luther Beef and Dairy Clubs.

We were asked to bring our animals from the Dairy and Beef Club to a show and fit day at Ron Brubacher’s Farm.

We split into three groups. One group went with Ken Leslie and we looked at pictures and had to think of some systems that were wrong with the animal.

The second group was asked to get their beef calves and learn different techniques of how to improve their showings around the ring with help from Joanne Handley.

The third group was learning different techniques for clipping their calf before showing their project at the achievement days from Shane Williams.

Then we all got together before lunch to learn how to make a knot correctly from Cody Walker.

After the barbecue lunch was enjoyed, we had a visit from Dr. Tim Henshaw a reproduction specialist.

Dr. Tim talked about bovine reproduction and then he asked some of us to help him be a part of the bovine reproduction body.

Then we thanked Ron Brubacher and Tim Henshaw for all the things we learned today.
