West Grey woman dead after collision

A two-vehicle collision here on Tuesday night has left a woman dead and a man in hospital.

On May 16 at 10pm emergency responders were called to collision at the intersection of Wellington Road 9 at Concession 6, west of  Moorefield.

“A pickup truck ran a stop sign and collided with a minivan,” the OPP stated in a press release.

The 74-year-old male driver of the minivan and the 69-year-old passenger, Brenda Jones of West Grey Township, were rushed to local hospital where Jones was pronounced dead.

“The male driver of the minivan remains with non-life threatening injuries,” police added. “The driver of the pickup truck was cleared by paramedics at scene.”

The intersection was closed for several hours as OPP officers investigated the cause of the crash.
