Wellington North’s Recreation Master Plan survey open
KENILWORTH – Township officials are inviting residents, community organizations, user groups, businesses and visitors to help shape the future of recreation in Wellington North through a new Recreation Master Plan survey.
The survey is part of the township’s update to its Recreation Master Plan, a long-term guiding document that helps shape decisions about recreation programs, parks, facilities, services and community needs.
The township has retained Monteith Brown Planning Consultants to assist with the update.
Officials say the project will help ensure recreation services continue to meet evolving community needs while responding to demographic changes, growth, and emerging recreation trends.
The updated plan will establish priorities and actions for the next 10 years and will be developed alongside the township’s Facilities Master Plan.
Community input will help identify:
– recreation programs and services residents would like to see in the future;
– opportunities to improve access to recreation and increase participation;
– potential enhancements to parks, recreation facilities, and public spaces; and
– community priorities for recreation investment and service delivery;
The Recreation Master Plan survey is open until Nov. 22. Residents can complete the survey online at surveymonkey.com/r/WNrecMP. Residents will also have opportunities to participate in drop-in public engagement sessions on the following dates:
– Nov. 15 from 11am to 2pm at the Arthur and Area Community Centre; and
– Nov. 21 from 11am to 2pm at the Mount Forest and District Sports Complex.
