Wellington North water, wastewater rates increasing by 2%, 4%

KENILWORTH – Water rates in Wellington North are set to increase by two per cent, and wastewater rates by 4%, every year from now until 2031.

Council approved the increases during a regular meeting of council on Dec. 1, and the changes go into effect on Jan. 1.

The increases are in line with recommendations from a 2025 water and wastewater study prepared for the township by DFA Infrastructure International Inc.

Another study is set to be completed after 2031.

The new water rates will bring the annual residential flat base charge from $593 in 2025 to $605 in 2025. By 2031, this rate will be $668.

For wastewater, the annual residential flat base charge is set to increase from $730 to $759 in 2026. This charge would swell to $923 by 2031.
