Local teenager charged with arson

MOUNT FOREST – A local teenager has been charged with arson in connection with one of several suspicious fires here earlier this month.

On June 7 at about 5pm, firefighters responded to a vehicle on fire in a field off Sligo Road East.

“The cause of the fire was determined to be suspicious, and the Wellington County OPP entered into an investigation,” states a press release from police.

On June 20 the OPP announced a 14-year-old boy from Wellington North was charged with arson (damage to property) and is to appear in Guelph court at a later date.
