Wellington North hires new finance director

WELLINGTON NORTH – Council here passed a bylaw on June 6 to officially appoint Farhad Hossain as Wellington North’s new finance director.

The search began following former director Adam McNabb’s March departure for Centre Wellington after being with the township for over four years.

Appearing virtually before council on Monday, Farhad Hossain said he’s looking forward to the change in sectors and to bring his expertise to the community.

Human resources manager Amy Tollefson introduced Hossain, saying he joins the township with 15 years of finance background in housing, health care and consumer goods.

Tollefson added Hossain has master’s degrees in accounting and business administration and in finance from Queen’s University and the University of Calgary, respectively.
