Wellington Heights junior boys volleyball win gold in District 4 championship

District champions – The Wellington Heights Secondary School (WHSS) junior boys volleyball team finished the regular season in third place, before heading off to Westside Secondary School in Orangeville on Dec. 8 for the District 4 playoffs.

In the semi-finals, the WHSS Wolverines faced off against the second place Centre Dufferin Royals and the Wolverines prevailed, winning three sets to two.

In the finals, the Wolverines challenged the undefeated Westside Secondary School Thunder from Orangeville. The Wolverines came out strong to take the first set 25-15, and then carried on successfully, winning the championship in four sets.

This marks the second consecutive year that Wellington Heights captured the District 4 gold medal championship for junior boys volleyball.
