Wellington County and local partners to develop an active transportation plan

An active transportation plan is being developed locally and across Wellington County to create and improve opportunities for people-powered recreation and transportation.

The county and local municipalities want to hear from people living and working in the county.

They are looking for residents to share ideas on how to improve conditions for hiking, on-road and off-road cycling, walking, inline skating, skateboarding, wheelchairing, snowshoeing and cross country skiing.

Residents can provide input by:

- Completing an online survey at www.surveymonkey.com/Wellington_Questionnaires. Hard copies of the survey will be available at local libraries, municipal offices and recreation centres.

- attending a planned public information centre meeting. Two meetings are scheduled this fall. For dates, times and locations visit www.wellington.ca, a local municipal website or the local Newspaper.

The information will help the county and its partners develop a progressive and comprehensive active transportation plan for the entire county.
