Ten employees of Student Transportation of Canada’s (STC) local companies – including Elliott Coach Lines - met in Alliston recently for a walk that raised more than $2,500 in the Canadian Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.

Each team of 10  took turns walking, running or strolling around the track at Alliston’s youth center.

Organized by Beeton resident Penny Batherson, STC’s area manager of safety and training, the STC team donned pink T-Shirts, pig ears and boas in recognition of team co-sponsor Chez Piggy, a Kingston restaurant. The team was rewarded for its efforts with the first place prize for best theme.

STC is a subsidiary of Student Transportation of America, the fourth largest school transportation company in North America serving school districts throughout Ontario and in 11 states across the U.S.
