Golfers can now register for the 14th Annual Fore Our Kids Golf Tournament which taking place at the Victoria East Golf Club on May 26, 2009. The tournament is hosted by the Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington which raises funds for The Camp Program.
The Camp Program is specifically directed at subsidizing or paying in full camp fees for children in need. In 2008, funds were provided for over 400 children. For many of these children, it was their only opportunity to "be a kid", meet new friends and experience activities that they might never get the chance to enjoy. The children are allowed to choose the camp of their choice – they can choose to attend Sports camps, music camps, riding camps and overnight camps including canoe trips and more.
“I liked going to camp because there I just can be myself and I can talk to my friends and the counselors about anything. I have so many special memories, playing games at night, riding the horses. It’s like having one BIG sleepover.”
