Guns, crossbow, car stolen from rural Erin home

ERIN – Police are looking for clues after someone stole weapons and a vehicle from a rural home here last week.

Wellington County OPP officers were called on Sept. 4 for a reported break-in at a residence on the 1st Line near Sideroad 27 in Erin.

Police say that sometime between 7:30am and 5pm that day, someone gained entry into the house by smashing a window of the attached garage.

Among the items stolen were electronics, jewelry, six to ten shotguns and rifles, an Excalibur crossbow with scope, and a 2011 Kia Sorento (plate number CMME386).

“Some of the firearms have since been recovered by another police service in another jurisdiction,” police stated.
