Walk n Roll fundraiser runs this Sunday for March of Dimes

This Sunday the second annual March of Dimes Canada Walk ’n’ Roll fundraiser will be held at the Stone Road Mall here.

The Walk ’n’ Roll is an opportunity for volunteers or fitness groups to support a good cause. The event is open to people of all ages and abilities.  Members of Guelph Wellington Chapter will be raising pledges and walking the mall to raise money and awareness for Stroke Recovery Canada, a program of March of Dimes Canada. Stroke Recovery Canada, is a national service offering post-recovery support, education and programs for stroke survivors, their families and health care providers. Through its work with local peer support groups, it provides Canadians with resources to help them survive and thrive after stroke. Participants raise pledges in return for a commitment to walk or roll the mall. In addition, volunteers will be helping to raise awareness about stroke and the work of Guelph Wellington Chapter of Stroke Recovery Canada.

Registration will be from 9:30 to 10am, and the event will run from 10am to 11:30am. For pledge sheets, or for more information call 519-822-5111.  Pledges can also be made at www.marchofdimes.ca/walk.
