Caressant Care Nursing and Retirement treated volunteers to a luncheon on April 15. Over 40 volunteers, staff, and residents attended.
Activities co-ordinator Audrey Domm thanked volunteers who help cheer the residents.
Guest speaker Caroline Beren said volunteers are “beacons of light and rays of hope in the lives of others.”
Administrator Lynn Jamieson was thankful for Caroline’s inspirational message. She finds there is a “different buzz” in the home when volunteers enter the doors.
“You are the happy glue that keeps us all connected,” she said.
Heather Plourde expressed appreciation on behalf of the residents.
Roger Harrison was recognized with a volunteer award for his dedication to the home, the residents, and the programs.
Local residents are urged to give activities staff Audrey Domm or Jaylene Winkler a call at 519-338-3700 if interested in volunteering.
