Victorian Order of Nurses receives $2500 cheque
WELLINGTON COUNTY – Dave Dougherty presents a $2,500 cheque to Victorian Order of Nurses exercise program coordinator Kelly Gee on Feb. 22.
Retired from a career with Canadian National Railway, Dougherty now leads exercise sessions for older adults as a VON volunteer with Canadian National Railway donating $18 for each hour Dougherty volunteers, up to a maximum of $2,500. “Dave’s dedication was undeniable as he presented VON SMART with the full $2,500 for his hours of service,” Gee stated, adding Dougherty has invigorated the lives of older adults who look forward to his visits at retirement homes and condos.
