Vandals strike with paint

Vandals hit a number of buildings in the Elora area with spray paint over the long weekend.

On Aug. 31 Wellington County OPP officers received information regarding a number of houses on Daniel Street that were spray painted by unknown suspect(s) overnight between Aug. 30 and 31. Police say the vandals used red and black spray paint and sprayed the sides of houses, decks and a shed (items painted include an ace of spades card, a two of diamonds, three of diamonds, and the words “Hmmmm”, “why” and others).

The base of the water tower had also been spray painted, as was a shed behind the curling club (with the words “zombies inside don’t enter” in green paint).

Anyone with information regarding these incidents can contact the Wellington County OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
