GUELPH – The largest university open house of its kind in North America is set to return March 21 and 22 at the University of Guelph.

Known as the “College Royal,” the 101-year-old event offers a taste of student life and the UoG’s eight colleges to the community.

Attendees can visit barns and facilities, take part in family-friendly events and learn more about over 60 student clubs, all free-of-charge, states a news release.

“It’s so rewarding to see everyone on campus, getting to enjoy everything U of G has to offer,” stated College Royal president Taylor Foster in the release.

Each March, the University of Guelph opens its doors to the public in a campus-wide open house, attracting around 20,000 people each year to the student-run and organized events.

There will be Old MacDonald’s New Farm, the square dancing competition, a dog show, various club displays, and more.

Held annually during the last weekend of March Break, the open house provides a chance to explore the university campus and see what the professors and students are up to, states the release.

Free parking is available in all campus lots throughout the weekend. Main buildings include the University Centre, Dairy Barn, Summerlee Science Complex, Athletics Centre and Rozanski Hall.

A local tradition since 1925, College Royal celebrated its centennial last year.
