Unemployment woes
A Wellington County unemployment rate of four percent may sound good, but it could hamper business growth in the north end of the county Wellington North Mayor Ray Tout told council at its Aug. 13 meeting.
“There’s little to choose from for a labour force,” the mayor said of businesses looking to move or expand in the township and neighbouring Minto.
Tout said the scenario might encourage builders to consider building affordable housing and will require economic development efforts to promote the area.
