Ultimate Burger Battle runs throughout June
GUELPH – United Way’s Ultimate Burger Battle is back just in time for patio season. For the entire month of June, you can enjoy a tasty new burger all while supporting local food insecurity programs.
The Ultimate Burger Battle, presented by Elinesky Schuett Private Wealth of RBC Dominion Securities, invites local restaurants to create unique burgers for the month and compete in a friendly battle of the burgers.
Two dollars from each Ultimate Burger sold will be donated to United Way and will support local food insecurity programs across Guelph, Wellington and Dufferin.
“United Way is all about supporting local,” said Glenna Banda, executive director, United Way Guelph Wellington Dufferin.
“Through the Ultimate Burger Battle, not only are we able to support and strengthen local organizations, but we can support local business as well. Every bite gives back to our community.”
Supporters will find a variety of Ultimate Burger options at eight restaurants, including vegetarian, beef, pork and chicken, and a vast number of creative and tasty toppings like chimichurri sauce and Saskatoon berry coulis.
Participating restaurants include:

– Borealis Grille and Bar Guelph;
– Miijidaa café and bistro;
– Montana’s Stone Road;
– Park Eatery;
– Royal Electric Bar and Public Eatery;
– R U Serious Tap and Grill; and
– The Wooly Pub.
The Crawl
New this year is the Ultimate Burger Battle Crawl on June 20, which will see participants visit three of the participating restaurants in downtown Guelph for a “mini” version of their Ultimate Burger, paired with a drink from a local brewer/distiller.

The Ultimate Burgers will compete for three awards up for grabs: Ultimate Burger of the Year, voted on by Ultimate Burger Battle Ambassadors (local community members who will be out trying all the burgers); Most Ultimate Burgers Sold; and the People’s Choice Ultimate Burger.
Throughout the month, community members can visit as many of the restaurants as possible and vote online for their favourite burger.
