The Centre Wellington Tyke Mohawks travelled to Orangeville to play the Northmen on July 27.

Fraser Clark scored two goals, and Griffin Mackie scored one in the first for a  3-1 lead. Nicholas Leader, Brinley Wilson, Joe Columbus, Mackie and Clark all scored and were able to just beat the Northmen with an 8-7 score.

The Tyke Mohawks then competed in the provincial playoffs in the Whitby area Aug. 3 and 4.

Their first game was in Ajax against the Six Nations Warriors. Keira Healey started the scoring, followed by a goal from Clark giving the Mohawks a 2-1 lead after the first. Clark scored again in the second, but the Warriors scored three of their own and the final was 6-3 for the Six Nations team.

Sunday afternoon the Mohawks faced the Windsor Warlocks in Whitby. Clark, Ryan McDougall and Columbus all scored in the first, and it was 3-2 for the Mohawks.

In the second Wyatt Marsland and Healey scored to bring the score to 5-4 in Centre Wellington’s favour. Goals from Wilson and McDougall in the third were not enough to beat the Warriors who scored 12 to the Mohawks’ seven.

Monday morning the Mohawks were back at it in Bowmanville against the Shelburne Veterans. McDougall and Mackie both found the back of the net in the first to give the Mohawks a 2-1 lead. Healey and Alex Rossi scored to bring the score to 4-1 for CW. Goals from Clark and Marsland in the third gave the Mohawks a 6-1 win over the Veterans. Once again working hard in the net was Ethan Lawrence.

The season is now wrapped up for the Tyke Mohawks.
