Two new Palmerston businesses receive signage grants

MINTO – Two new businesses in Palmerston received signage grants as approved by Minto council on May 6.

The first business discussed was Well Initiatives Limited (WIL) in the Palmerston Industrial Park at 345 Minto Road, Unit 1.

WIL provides water well drilling and maintenance services, specializing in municipal water supply, and has worked with the town for 20 years.

The lowest signage quote provided by the company was $6,568, making it eligible for a maximum grant of $1,000 through the signage grant program (initiated in 2009).

The $1,000 will support the purchase of adding the company name to the gable end of the building. Lettering on the front door will also be added, to differentiate from the tenant unit.

WIL may be showing off the new sign at its grand opening on May 30.

Elegant Aesthetics

Nicole Crispin, 20, is the owner of a new beauty salon coming to Palmerston. Elegant Aesthetics is located at 125 Main St. W. and offers a variety of services including hair, waxing, spray tans, lashes, nails and more.

The young entrepreneur submitted an application for a new sign and façade improvement that includes the purchase of a new commercial window and door.

Crispin was eligible for a $468 signage grant and $3,000 façade grant.

According to the report, this will improve storefront aesthetics as well as help with energy efficiency and cost savings for the business.

With both of these applications approved, $29,692 will remain in the CIP budget for 2025, which began the year with a balance of $35,000.
