Two farmers markets opening this weekend with added events

There will be two farmers’ markets offering all kinds of fresh produce and other goods when they hold their grand openings here this weekend.

The markets are located Harriston and Palmerston.

The grand opening in Harriston will take place with a ribbon cutting at Harriston Motors this Friday at 3pm.

The following day at 9am, the Palmerston Railway Museum, there will be another ribbon cutting for that market.

The Harriston market operates Fridays from June to October, while the Palmerston market runs from June to September. The opening of the Palmerston market also coincides with annual Splash Pad Bash from 11am to 3pm and John Wilkinson’s barbecue at the Lion’s Heritage Park from 11am to 3pm.
