Two escape with minor injuries after ultralight crash near Teviotdale on Aug. 18

A pilot and a passenger received minor injuries when an ultralight aircraft crashed in a field just north of Teviotdale on Aug. 18.

Wellington County OPP along with the Minto Fire Department, and Guelph-Wellington Emergency Medical Service (EMS) responded to a report of a crash into a field at Wellington Road 109 and 1st Line just after 5pm on Aug. 18.

Upon arrival, officers located an ultralight trike with two male occupants who had suffered minor injuries. The men’s names were not released.

The pilot was treated and released at the scene while the passenger was transported to a local hospital for further treatment.

A total of 14 Minto firefighters responded to the incident.

Chief Chris Harrow said firefighters assisted paramedics and ensured that there were no major fuel leaks.  

Police said the cause of the crash had not been determined as of Aug. 19, but the Transport Safety Bureau had been notified of the incident.
