Two children seriously injured in Highway 89 crash

Five people in total hurt in three-vehicle collision on Saturday morning

MINTO – Two children with “life-threatening injuries” were among five people hurt in a serious three-vehicle crash here on Saturday.

Wellington County OPP officials say emergency crews responded to the scene on Highway 89 in Minto on Feb. 4 at about 10:40am.

“It was reported that a minivan, a SUV and a sedan had collided,” police stated in a press release.

“As a result of the collision three adults have been transported to local hospitals with minor injuries.

“Two children have been transported to trauma centres with life-threatening injuries.”

Police say Highway 89 was to be closed from Wellington Road 2 to Pike Lake Road for several hours and motorists should avoid the area.

The OPP continues to investigate the crash.
