MPP Liz Sandals has announced that a partnership led by Community Living Guelph Wellington will be receiving a grant of $60,400 over two years.

The grant will be used by the Wellington Dufferin committee for independent facilitation and planning to create a network of trained community facilitators and mentors for individuals with developmental challenges.

The Wellington Dufferin committee will work with six parent representatives and Community Living Guelph Wellington, Guelph Services for the Autistic, Dufferin Child and Family Services,  Trellis Mental Health and Developmental Services and Family Counselling Support Services for Guelph-Wellington.

Sandals said, “As a result of this [grant], adults with development disabilities in our community will benefit from working with facilitators who can help connect them with the individualized supports they need.”

Bob Butella, executive director of Community Living, said he is also very thankful for the grant.
