WINDSOR, NS – The Tri-City Training wrestling team concluded its competitive season with a great performance at the Youth Canada East Wrestling Tournament on May 9 and 10 in Windsor, Nova Scotia.

Every single Tri-City athlete advanced to the championship finals, which officials call “a stunning display of skill and consistency.”

The team’s performance resulted in a haul of six gold medals and one silver, solidifying its reputation as one of the region’s premier training programs, officials stated in a press release.

All seven competitors medaled, including:

– Siena Lister, gold;

– Aster Davies, gold;

– Eris Davies, gold;

– Ivy Cako, gold;

– Willow Schmuki, gold;

– Lars Schmuki, gold; and

– Sacha Cako; silver

While the medal count was high, the focus of the weekend remained on sportsmanship and the culmination of months of rigorous training.

The coaching staff emphasized the athletes’ conduct in Nova Scotia was just as impressive as their technical execution.

“I am incredibly proud of the work and performance these athletes displayed both on and off the mats,” said coach Tom Cako.

With a near-perfect run in the finals, these young competitors have set an incredibly high bar for the year ahead, officials concluded in the press release.
